$art, bir "eyin olabilmesi, yapılabilmesi için ba"ka bir durumun yerine getirilmesi
gere!i, zorunlulu!udur. Gerçek olabilecek veya olmayacak bir olayın sonucunu anlatırlar.
$art cümleleri bir yan cümlecik (clause) ve bir ana cümle (main clause) den olu"ur.
If + yan cümle + ana cümle %
Genellikle if cümlesi bir ko"ulu, ana cümle ise meydana gelebilecek ya da gelmi"
olan bir sonucu ya da olayı anlatır. Yani birinin olması di!erinin olmasına ba!lı ya da
etkense anlatmada #ngilizce’de Conditional sentences ( "art cümleleri) dedi!imiz yapı
türü kullanılır. #ngilizce’de $art Cümlelerinde “If Clause” kısmı "art veya olasılık belirtir.
E!er cümle if ile ba"larsa bu cümleden sonra virgül konulur..
If 1 go to Istanbul, 1 will visit the Topkapı Palace.

“if” di!er zaman ba!laçlarından “when” ile de!i"tirildi!inde anlamda pek bir
de!i"iklik olmaz.
If it is cold , I wear a coat. (= When it is cold, I wear a coat.)
(Hava so!uk olursa, palto giyerim = Hava so!uk oldu!unda palto giyerim.)

UNTRUE IN THE PRESENT OR FUTURE
"u Anda ya da Gelecekte Do%ru Olmayan
“ Type 2 Hayali $art” olarak ta isimlendirilmektedir. Geçmi" zaman kullanılmasına
ra!men aslında geçmi" zamandan bahsedilmemektedir. Bu nedenle gerçek olmayan
geçmi" diye adlandırılmı"tır.
En yaygın kullanım "ekli:
IF + SIMPLE PAST, WOULD + V1(Fiilin 1. hali)
If I had enough money, I would lend you some.
(E!er yeterli param olsaydı, sana biraz borç verirdim.)
If I were rich , I would buy a mercedes.
(E!er zengin olsaydım, bir mercedes alırdım.)
If I knew the answer, I would tell it to you.
Cevabı bilsem sana söylerim / söylerdim.
If he didn’t drink so much, he wouldn’t cough so much.
Bu kadar çok içmese, bu kadar çok öksürmez / öksürmezdi.
